Napa cabbage with white radish and tofu (using an old rice cooker with congee funtion)

This boiled napa cabbage with white radish and tofu is simple to make. I decided to use an old-style rice cooker with a congee function. I did not add any seasoning. Just simple and natural. It is very healthy and does not contain any oil.
All you need to do is separate the napa cabbage, as many as you need to boil in a mixing bowl. If you see dirty stuff in the cabbage. The needs to be washed 3-4 times. First, shake the cabbage in the water and rinse and place it in a strainer. Continue washing until the water is clear without any dirty stuff. Once it is clean, set it aside.
If the white radish is too big, you can cut it in half and save the other half to use next time. Rinse and peel the skin. Place the knife at an angle and cut into pieces directly into a mixing bowl. Then rinse and set it aside.
I decided to use silk tofu because it is soft and easy to eat. You just need to remove water from the package and cut into pieces directly in the package. The silk tofu is boiled in the rice cooker last because they cook fast.
First, I cook the white radish because they take longer to cook. It takes about 20-30 minutes. To know if it’s tender. Insert a large toothpick. If it goes through, that means it is ready. (note: when you see no more dirty stuff in the container water, that means the napa cabbage is clean.)
9. Once finish washing the cabbage. Put it aside. 

Preparing the white radish:
1. Take the White Radish out of the fridge.
2. Take a cutting board and cut the white radish in half, or you can use the whole white radish.
(Note: If not using the other half, you can wrap it up with a plastic wrapper and put it in the fridge to use next time.)
3. Take a knife peeler and peel off the skin directly into the garbage.
4. Place the white radish on a cutting board. Take a knife and place it at an angle. While in each turn, cut the white radish into pieces and put it directly into a mixing bowl.
5. When all is cut up and put into the mixing bowl, rinse the white radish and set it aside.

Preparing the tofu:.
1. Take tofu out of the fridge.
2. Open the package, drain all the water into the sink.
3. Leave the tofu in the package. Take a knife cut the tofu
into pieces and set it aside.

Cooking process:

1. Take out a rice cooker that has a congee function. Plug in the plug
2. Fill the rice cooker with water. The amount you need to boil.
3. Turn the rice cooker to rice cook. Wait for the water to start boiling.
4. When the water starts boiling add in the White radish into the rice cooker.
5. Boiled and simmer in the rice cooker for 20-25 minutes.
6. When the water starts boiling again and 25 minutes is ready. Take a pieces of
white radish and taste if it’s tender. Take a fork and if it goes through the white radish, that means
it is ready. If not, you need to cook it a bit longer.
7. Once ready, take a skimmer spoon up some white radish and put it on the plate.
8. Take the bowl of napa cabbage and pour it into the rice cooker.
9. Close the lid and boil for 5-10 minutes.
(Keep an eye on the rice cooker because the napa cabbage can cook fast.)
10. Once water starts boiling and 5-10 minutes is ready, Open the lid and take a fork and feel
if the napa cabbage is tender.
11. Once tender, it is ready. Take a skimmer spoon and take out all the napa cabbage
and place it on the same plate of the white radish.
12. Pour the cut up tofu package slowly into the rice cooker.
(Note: Be careful of the water when putting the tofu in the hot water because it can splash on you.)
13. When the tofu starts boiling in the water, let it boil for another 1-2 minutes.
Once it is ready. Take a skimmer spoon and scoop up some tofu, and place it onto the same
plate of white radish and nappa.
(Note: Be careful placing the tofu on the plate because they are delicate
and easy to brake.)
14. Now you have a plate of nappa cabbage with white radish and tofu.

White radish with ginger (using an instant pot)

This white radish with ginger made from an instant pot is very simple, and you can have this in no time. I decided to use a white radish to make something simple. A white radish can also be called diakon. Using an instant pot is faster than cooking on the stove.
I cut the radish in half and saved the other half in the fridge to use next time. Rinse, peel the skins. Place the white radish on a cutting board. Take a knife and place it at an angle. While in each turn, cut the white radish into pieces and put it directly into a mixing bowl.
Fill up the instant pot with water. Put some salt and garlic powder and some pieces of ginger. Put in the bowl of white radish. Pour in a bit of dark soya sauce and close the lid. Press the manual button and cook for 4 minutes. When 4 minutes are done, it will release the pressure of the value. Once done, and the gray thing drops to the bottom. Press the saute button and wait until it starts boiling. When it starts boiling, press the off button.
This white radish is very delicious, and I like it a lot. It’s very convenient when you have an instant pot. It saves time.

5. Close the lid. Press the manual button and set the time to 4 minutes.
6. Once 4 minutes finished. It will release the pressure of the value.
(Note: Don’t open the lid of the pressure cooker while it is pressuring-cooking, or it will explode.)
7. Once done and the gray thing drops to the bottom, Open the lid. Take a pieces and taste if tender.
Once tender, that means it is ready.
8. Press saute button and let it bring to a boil. Then press cancel/off.

Chinese broccoli with small side dish oyster sauce

A healthy boiled Chinese broccoli is very simple to make. You can find Chinese broccoli at a Chinese supermarket.
This Chinese broccoli is the easiest to wash because they are not very dirty. Cut off the end hard part. Just wash 3-4 times to ensure it is clean. When you see the water is clear without any dirty stuff, it is clean.
When cooking the Chinese broccoli, it does not contain any oil or salt. Put the Chinese broccoli in boiling water and cook until it is a bit crunchy and tender. If you like the texture hard. You don’t need to cook it longer. Once it is boiling again, open the lid to taste it. If it’s the right texture, that means it is ready. Remember not to close the lid once it is boiling to prevent it from not being a good colour. When they are ready, turn off the heat.
I decided to place the Chinese broccoli nicely on the plate. I used a tong. Take the Chinese broccoli one by one and put it horizontally on the plate. The stems are facing the left and the leaves on the right.
I also made a small sauce plate of oyster sauce and place it on the side of the dish. It is placed nicely and beautifully on the plate. You can buy the oyster sauce at a chinese supermarket or any where that sells oyster sauce.

After boiling the Chinese broccoli, the water that is left in the large pan, you can drink it as a soup or have it as a noodles soup. The Chinese broccoli is very delicious and tasty. You can dip the Chinese broccoli in a plate of oyster sauce, and it will taste so good. It is best not to eat the oyster sauce a lot because it’s not healthy. Washing Chinese broccoli:
1. Take the package of Chinese broccoli out of the fridge.
2. In the cupboard take out a strainer and a big container to
wash the Chinese broccoli.
3. Place the large container in the sink. Take the strainer and place it
on the other sink next to it.
4. Take the Chinese broccoli out of the package and place it in the big container.
5. Separate each Chinese broccoli pieces apart. Use a knife and cut off the end hard part.
7. Open each Chinese broccoli wide wash it in the water very clean, make sure there are no dirty stuff
in the vegetable.
6. Open the cold water and fill it up. Take the end part of the mustard green on each hands. turn it upside down and separate apart and shake it in water.
(note: Make sure all the dirty stuff is out and each vegetable is clean.)
7. Each time a pieces is wash, place it in the strainer.
8. Fill the container with water and wash the Chinese broccoli 3-4 times and put it aside
(Note: make sure it is all clean and have no dirty stuff.)

Cooking process:
1. In the cupboard, take a large pan and place on the stove.
2. Pour some cold water into the a large pan. If there is not enough water then you can add more.
(note: Add just the right amount of water that you need to boil the Chinese broccoli.)
3. Turn on the heat to high and cover the lid.
4. Wait until water starts boling.
5. When the water is boiling ready, add the Chinese broccoli into the large pan and cover the lid.
(Note: Make sure all the Chinese broccoli pieces are in the water and nothing is sticking out.)
6. Wait for it boil up. Once the water is boiling up, leave the lid open.
(Note: Keeping the lid open will prevent the vegetable from having a not-good colour.)
8. When the Chinese broccoli is boiling again. Let it sit and cook in the boiling water for little bit.
(note: if you like the broccoli to be hard then do not need to cook longer. If you want it to be tender then let it cook a bit longer.
9. Once they are ready. Turn off the heat and set it aside.

Making the plate of Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce:
1. Take a clean round plate.
2. Use a tong and take a piece of Chinese broccoli and place it horizontally on the plate.
(Note: The stems facing the left and leaves on the right.)
3. Continue the same steps for the rest of the Chinese broccoli.
4. Take a small sauce plate.
5. Place it on the side of the plate.
6. Now you have a plate of Chinese broccoli with a small side dish sauce of oyster sauce.
7. Enjoy.

Boiled drumsticks topped with cilantro (using an old rice cooker with congee funtion)

These boil drumsticks are simple to make. I decided to cook it in an old rice cooker with a congee function. If you don’t have one, you can boil drumsticks on the stove. It is almost the same process as the rice cooker. A slight difference is instead of turning rice congee. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. Once ready. Leave the drumsticks in the rice cooker until you are ready to eat. Once ready to eat, take out the drumsticks and place them onto a plate. Place some cilantro on top of the drumsticks. The drumsticks came out perfectly and delicious. I like it a lot. Boiling food is very healthy.

Take 6 drumsticks from the fridge.
If drumsticks are in the freezer, take them out. Place it on a plate and put it in the microwave to defrost it.

Take some salt and rub it on the drumsticks to take the not a good smell away.
Rinse the drumsticks.

Preparing the onions and ginger:
1. In the bag, take an onion. Use a knife and peel the skins.
2. Place it on the cutting board.
3. Cut it in half. Place it on the side and cut it into slices.
4. Put the onions in a bowl and set them aside.
5. Take a ginger. Take a slice cutter. Make sure the knife is attached to the slice cutter and slice couple of ginger into strips of pieces. Place it in a bowl and set it aside.

Preparing cilantro:
Take cilantro out of the fridge.
Put the cilantro in a bowl.
Fill the bowl with cold water and wash 3-4 times.
Make sure there is no dirty stuff.
once clean, put it in a clean bowl and set it aside.

Using a rice cooker with a congee function:
1. Take out a rice cooker with a congee function. Plugin the plug
2. Fill the rice cooker with water. The amount you need to cook the drumsticks
3. Put a couple of gingers and onions into the rice cooker.
4. Pour the plate of drumsticks into the rice cooker.
5. Turn on the rice cooker. Cook for 10 minutes or until the rice cooker steam starts to come out.
6. When the rice cooker starts to have steam coming out, turn it to slow cook.
7. Cook for another 10-15 minutes.
(Note: Do not over-cook the drumsticks, or it will become tough.)
8. When 10 or 15 minutes are ready. Open the rice cooker and check if there is any blood coming out. If there is, that means you need to cook it a bit longer.
9. Once ready. Use a tong and take out all the drumsticks and place it onto a plate and set them on the table.
10. Take some cilantro and place it on top of the drumsticks to look nice.
11. The chicken water that is left in the rice cooker you can drink as a soup or use as a soup base for noodles.
12. Enjoy

Boiled chicken legs (using an old rice cooker with congee funtion)

Boiled chicken legs are so simple to make, and it does not take long. I decided to use an old style rice cooker with a congee fuction to cook the chicken legs. I did not marinate anything. I just put it in the boiling water and boil the chicken legs.
All you need to do is wash and clean the chicken legs. Take off all the dirty stuff off the chicken until it is clean. Fill the slow cooker with water. Put some ginger and onions into the slow cooker. Place the chicken legs into the rice cooker with a congee function. Turn on to low heat and cook for 7 minutes or until the steam comes out. Then turn to low heat. Cook for another 25 minutes. Use scissors and cut a piece of it to check if it’s all well-done. If it has no blood or pink showing, that means it is ready.

13. If you already have chicken legs in the freezer, take out the frozen chicken legs and put it in the microwave to defrost.

8. Turn on to rice cooker. Cook for 7 minutes or until the slow cooker steam starts to come out.
9. When the slow cooker starts to have steam coming out, turn it to slow cook.
10. Cook for another 25 minutes.

11. When 25 minutes are ready. Take a piece of chicken out of the slow cooker. Use a pair of scissors and cut to check if there is any blood or pink inside. If it’s not ready, that means you need to cook it a bit longer.
12. Once ready. Use a tong and take out all the chicken legs and place it on a plate and set it on the table.

Rice cooker – Boiled Marinated Soya Sauce Tofu

This is a boiled marinated soya sauce tofu. A Chinese dish. It’s very delicious and simple to make. Look at how it is coated with the marinated soya sauce. With some sauce on the plate after putting the tofu on the plate. I decide to use tofu to have something different using the boiled marinated soya sauce. At the bottom, I have the recipe how to make the boiled marinated soya sauce tofu.
With the rice cooker of soya sauce, if you don’t finish it, you can freeze it in the freezer and use it next time. The rice cooker of soya sauce can be made with pork or chicken instead of tofu. With this sauce, you can make different variety of food, out of this marinated soya sauce and have a lot to eat.

Ingredients
Half cup dark soya sauce
light soya sauce
6 cups of water
3-4 pieces of cloves
Garlic powder
pinch of salt
sugar

Cooking soya sauce:
1. Take out a slow cooker. Place the rice cooker on the table.
2. Pour in half a cup of dark soya sauce into a rice cooker. Then pour 6 cups of water.
3. Take a clean bowl and put 3-4 pieces of cloves. Put some water over the cloves.
4. Put it in the microwave for 1 minute.
(Note: Different wattage microwave heating time can be different.)
5. Take it out of the microwave and put it in the rice cooker.
6. In the rice cooker, add in garlic powder, sugar, salt and light soya sauce.
7. Turn on the heat on high. Cook the soya sauce for 10 minutes or until it is boiling.
8. When it is boiling, turn off the heat and taste the soya sauce. If the taste is right, that means it is ready to use.

Preparing the tofu:
1. Take 1 pack of firm tofu out of the fridge.
2. Open the package, drain all the water into the sink.
3. Rinse all the tofu.
4. Place the tofu on a cutting board, and cut all the tofu into square pieces.
(Note: Make sure all the tofu, are cut into the same size.)

Cooking the Boiled Marinated Soya Sauce with Tofu:
1. Put the Tofu in a rice cooker. 
2. Cook until the marinated soya sauce tofu starts to boil.
3. Once it is boil, press the button up.
4. Let the tofu cook in the boiling soya sauce for 10 -15 minutes.
5. When it’s ready, unplug the slow cooker.
6. Leave the tofu in the boiled marinated soya sauce until you are ready to eat.
7. Now it is ready to eat.
8. Be-careful scooping up the tofu because it can easily break.
9. Place all the tofu onto a plate and set it on the table.
10. Enjoy.

Boiled broccoli

Boiled broccoli is very simple to make. It does not take long and very healthy. When boiling the broccoli, it came out so green and perfectly. It’s very delicious. I like this dish a lot.
Before you rinse the broccolis, you can peel off the hard strip parts at the bottom of the stem to prevent the broccolis from being crunchy. If you like it crunchy, you can keep it the way it is. If you, remove the stem strip parts. You need to cook it to tender.
This dish goes well with rice or noodles whichever you choose as your desire. I recommend making the broccoli tender easier for the kids to eat. If you are a vegetarian, this plate of broccoli’s can be the perfect dish to make.

Washing yu choy:
1. Take the package of yu choy out of the fridge.
2. In the cupboard, take out a strainer and a big container to wash the yu choy.
3. Place the large container in the sink. Take a strainer and place it on the other sink.

3. Take an onion, peel the skin, Put it on the cutting board, cut it in half, turn it on the side and cut it into slices.
4. Boil some water in the kettle.

6. Put some oil in the pan. When the pan is hot, put in the garlic and onions.
7. If there is not enough oil, put some oil on the garlic’s. Press on the garlic. Cook until they are golden brown and you smell
the garlic.
8. When the water is ready, pour some hot water into the large pan.
9. Put the yu choy into a large pan. Make sure they are together and not separated.
10. Close the lid and wait until the water is boiling.
11. When it’s boiling, open the lid and leave the lid off to prevent the yu choy from not having a good colour.
12. Let it cook for a few seconds.
13. Turn the yu choy over to the other side and let it cook for a few minutes.
