Watercress with garlic and ginger

The watercress is very healthy and good for the eyes. It can lower the risk of heart disease, and It has a good source of minerals that can protect the bones.
Stir-fried watercress, when put into a frying pan, you can hear a sizzling sound. It smells so good with the garlic and ginger cooked together with the watercress. The stir-fried watercress came out greenly and perfectly.
When stir-frying the watercress, you need to taste a piece of watercress to check if it is the desired texture. I decided to make it a bit crunchy and tender, easier to eat. The watercress can be found and bought at a Chinese supermarket or any supermarket that you can find them.

Direction:

Washing Watercress
1. In the fridge, take out the watercress.
2. In the cupboard, take a strainer and a big container to wash the watercress.
3. Place the large container in the sink. Take the strainer and place it on the other sink.
(Note: If you only have one sink, you can put the strainer over a container on the counter to prevent it from dripping water.)
4. Take as much watercress as needed out of the bag and place it in the big container. The rest of the watercress put them back into the fridge.
5. Separate each watercress apart.
6. Open cold water and fill the container. While washing, shake each watercress in the water. Then rinse it with tap water.
7. Each time watercress is washed, place it in the strainer.
8. Check the water if there is any dirty stuff. Once the water is clear, that means the watercress is clean.
9. Repeat the same step by washing the watercress four times.
10. When all done. Set it aside.

Preparing garlic and ginger:
1. Take garlic. Use a knife and peel the skins.
2. Take 4-5 garlic and put it flat side of the knife over the garlic.
While holding the knife handle, at the bottom palm of your hand carefully hit the knife on the garlic
to separate the skin.
4. Repeat the same steps for the rest of the garlic.
(Note: Be careful not to get cut from the knife.)
5. When done, set it aside.
6. Take ginger. Use a spoon and peel the skin.
7. Take a knife and cut a couple of slices of ginger.
8. Put the gingers in a bowl and set them aside.

Cooking process:
1. Take out a large pan and place it on the stove.
2. Turn the heat to high.
3. When the pan is hot, put some oil.
4. Put the garlic and ginger into the large pan and stir until done.
5. Put the watercress in the large pan and stir a bit.
6. Pour a bit of water into the large pan. Close the lid.
7. When water starts boiling, open the lid. Put a bit of salt, garlic powder and light soya sauce. Stir to mix.
(Note: Keeping the lid off will prevent watercress from being not a good looking colour.)
7. Taste a piece of watercress to check if it is the desired texture.
(Note: Do not cook the watercress too tender, or it will not taste good.)
8. When the texture is right. Let it cook for a bit to ensure it is properly cooked.
9. Once done, place it onto a plate.
10. Enjoy.

Boiled watercress

These watercress are very delicious and easy to make. You can buy these watercress at a Chinese supermarket or any supermarket that you can find them. Look at how greenly and beautiful it came out after boiling from the water.

Cooking Direction:
1. In the cupboard take out large pan.
2. Place on the stove.
3. Pour some cold water into the large pan. If there is not enough water then you can add more.
(note: Add just the right amount of water that you need to boil the Watercress.)
6. Turn on the heat to high and cover the lid.
7. Wait for about 10-15 minutes or until the water is boiling
8. When the water is boiling ready, add in the watercress into the large pan and cover the lid.
(Note: Make sure all the watercress pieces are in the water and nothing is sticking out.)
9. Wait for it boil up. Once the water is boiling up, leave the lid open.
(Note: Keeping the lid open will prevent the vegetable from having a not-good colour.)
12. When the watercress is boiling again. Let it sit and cook in the boiling water for little bit.
(note: if you like the watercress to be hard then do not need to cook longer. If you want it to be tender then let it cook a bit longer.
12. Once they are ready. Turn off the heat and place all the watercress on to a plate and place it on the table.

Chicken Soup with watercress and white radish

This is a chicken soup with watercress and white radish. It is very delicious and simple to make. I decided to make this soup from an instant pot. Look at how beautiful the colour came out after making the soup.The watercress from the water made it so greenly colour.
If you do no not have an instant pot, you can make it from a soup pot. The white radish can be found at a Chinese supermarket.

Preparation Of The White Radish

1. Take the White Radish out of the fridge.
2. Take a cutting board and cut the white radish in half and wash it.
Peel the skin off with a knife peeler
3. Rinse the white radish
4. Place the radish on the cutting board and cut into round pieces.
5. Put all the white radish in a strainer and rinse it again and place it over
a bowl to drain out the water from dripping everywhere and set it aside.

Chicken Pieces
1. If you have a pieces of chicken in the freezer, take it out and place it in the microwave
and defrost it. All microwave defrosting time can be different.
(note: If you just bought it in store and have it in the fridge, you do not need to defrost it in the
microwave and can eliminate this step.)
2. Place a bowl in the sink.
3. Take a cutting board and place the piece of chicken.
4. Cut some chicken meat into a bowl.
5. cut a piece of chicken bone in a bowl and set it aside.

Marinate the chicken pieces
1.Take a the bowl of chicken meat
2. Marinate the chicken meat with some garlic powder,and soya sauce, . Mix it all together well with a wooden spoon or a Tong.
3. Add some cornstarch and mix until you do not see any more white cornstarch
4. Add in a lot of flours and mix until you do not see any more flours.
5. Set it aside.

Cooking process using an instant pot
1. Take out the instant pot and place it on the table.
2. Plug in the instant pot
3. Fill it up with some water
4. press the instant pot soup button and set time to 30 minutes.
5. First put in the chicken bone.
6. Add in the white radish
7. Peel the 2 garlic’s skins and some ginger. cut into pieces.
8. Put it in the instant pot.
9. Close the lid and wait until the water is boiling. Once the water is boiling
leave it along and let it boil for a few of minutes.
10. Press the manual button and set it for 15 minutes to make sure the white radish is well cook.
11. When 15 minutes is ready and the water is boiling, add in the watercress for 4-5 minutes
12. Left the cover off.
(note: When you put the cover on and leave it the soup cook, the watercress will become not so
greenly colour.)
13. Wait for the the water to boil.
14. Once the water is boiling add in the marinated chicken pieces and wait for 3-4 minutes.
15. Now the chicken soup with watercress and white radish is ready.
